Big Sky Resort is located 43 miles southwest of our location in Bozeman and 50 miles northwest of Yellowstone National Park. The resort has three skiable peaks of varying difficulty levels, including a super pipe and terrain park. Overall, the resort encompasses 3,812 acres and 150 runs that cover more than 85 miles of terrain. In fact, the longest run from Liberty Bowl to Mountain Mall is 6 miles long!
Lodging
Big Sky is replete with picturesque places to stay. You can choose from remote log cabins and ranches, or stay in a rental home or condo right on the slopes. The iconic Huntley Lodge is original to the resort and provides convenient slope-side access. The Shoshone Condominium Hotel, Village Center, and Summit Hotel at Big Sky are also favorable slope-side options.
Dining
Similarly, dining options in Big Sky abound. Vista Hall recently opened inside the resort’s reinvented Mountain Village hub, and offers a wide variety of food and drink options. While there are plenty of other on-site dining options, we recommend skiing over to Scissorbill’s Saloon or Chopper’s Grub and Pub for hearty eats.
Non-Skiing Options
For those in your crew who don’t care for the slopes, there is still so much to do in the area! Nearby Lone Mountain Ranch offers great cross-country skiing. Likewise, Yellowstone National Park is home to some great cross-country trails and offers winter snowcoach tours! Snowmobiling, zip-lining, sleigh rides, and horseback riding are also fun alternatives.
