Are you visiting
Montana for only a short time? Don’t leave without at least visiting
Yellowstone National Park. If you only have one day to visit Yellowstone, we at
Journey Rent-A-Car suggest that you focus your time on these top
Yellowstone attractions. (Check out Yellowstone.net’s expanded list of
top Yellowstone attractions if you plan to spend at least three days in the park.)
1. Old Faithful Geyser
Amazing to behold, Old Faithful has been the top
Yellowstone site to see for years. This geyser erupts—on average—every 91 minutes, spewing thousands of gallons of water over a hundred feet into the air. Old Faithful is a mainstay of the park, and you need to see this phenomenon at least once in your life. You can also spend some time in the Old Faithful Inn and Visitor Education Center as well as walking the boardwalk trails that surround the geyser.
2. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Located opposite of Old Faithful’s region of Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is picturesque and worth the drive. Its canyon cuts deep into
Yellowstone National Forest, and with Lower Falls in the backdrop, you will want to make the hike along the canyon. You can even take a trail to the bottom of Lower Falls to see Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon from a whole new perspective.
3. Hayden Valley
Yellowstone National Park is home to a diverse group of wildlife. If you want to catch a glimpse of bison, elk, or maybe even a grizzly bear, then Hayden Valley is where you want to go. You can drive your
car rental through the valley and stop to take pictures or see the animals at different points along the way.
These three attractions make up only a small portion of the expansive
Yellowstone National Park. Visitors coming from
Bozeman, MT can easily pick up a
rental car and arrive at
Yellowstone in very little time—allowing for plenty of time to explore the park.
